Chile 88 is a digital platform that brings together materials related to the plebiscite held in Chile on October 5, 1988, in which citizens were asked to vote “YES” (to continue the dictatorship) or “NO” (to return to democratic elections). This site includes: oral histories from a variety of political perspectives; the complete “YES” and “NO” television campaign; documentaries; a fictional television program; and images by renowned Chilean photographer Marcelo Montecino. <\/p>

The interviews were conducted by the project’s general editor, PhD Jennifer Ashley, anthropologist and professor at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, USA. The platform was designed by Alejandra Facuse, audiovisual and digital communicator. <\/p>

The Mapuche 88 exhibition was developed in collaboration with the digital archive of the Centro de Estudios de la Memoria Mapuche<\/a>, directed by PhD Enrique Antileo. Interviews for the exhibition were conducted by Enrique Antileo and Jennifer Ashley. <\/p>

This digital archive has been growing thanks to the help of many people.
